How the score works
Every question is worth 0, 5 or 10 points, so the most you can score is 100. The scoring is fixed and the same for everyone — no AI decides your number. Where you land puts you in one of three bands.
0–40
Not ready yet
There are real gaps here — the good news is that they are all fixable, and you have found them before your interview did.
45–70
Nearly there
You know your material — what is missing is the practice of saying it out loud, under pressure, without hesitating.
75–100
Close — keep drilling
You are well prepared on paper, and the work left is keeping it sharp out loud.
There is no fourth band that says you will be approved. A consular decision is not something a quiz can forecast, and a tool that pretends otherwise is selling you a feeling rather than telling you something true.
The ten areas it scores
1. Why this university specifically
Can you say why THIS university, and not three others that offer the same course?
2. Programme fit to your background
Can you connect this programme to what you have already studied or done?
3. Funding and documents
Who is funding your studies, and are their documents ready?
4. Your I-20 figure
Do you know the total on your I-20 exactly?
5. Ties to home
Can you name concrete reasons you intend to return home after your studies?
6. Your plan after graduating
What is your plan after you graduate?
7. Consistency with your DS-160
Have you re-read your DS-160 recently enough to answer consistently with it?
8. A previous refusal
If you have been refused a visa before, can you talk about it calmly?
9. Rehearsing out loud
Have you actually said any of these answers OUT LOUD?
10. Interview timing
How close is your visa interview?
FAQs
How long is an F-1 visa interview?
Usually very short — often two to three minutes at the window. That is the whole reason rehearsing out loud matters more here than almost anywhere else: there is no time to think, only to answer.
Does this tell me whether I will get my visa?
No. Nobody can tell you that, and any tool claiming to predict a consular decision is guessing. This scores how prepared you are across ten areas and shows you the three weakest, so you know what to work on before you go.
How is the score worked out?
Each of the 10 questions is worth 0, 5 or 10 points depending on which answer you pick, for a maximum of 100. The scoring is fixed and identical for everyone — no AI decides your number. An AI writes only the four-sentence verdict, from your answers and your already-calculated score.
Do I need to sign up? What happens to my answers?
No signup, no account, and we never ask who you are. Your score is worked out in your own browser. Your answers are then sent to our server so an AI can write the short verdict, and that generated verdict is cached for 24 hours so identical answers do not cost a second run — it is not linked to you, because we have nothing to link it to. We also keep a salted, one-way hash of your IP address purely to apply a daily usage limit; the address itself is never stored.
Why does it ask about my DS-160?
Because contradicting your own application form is a problem you create for yourself, and it is completely avoidable. Re-read what you actually submitted before you go, so your spoken answers and your form say the same thing.
