Cookie Policy

Last updated: 29 May 2026

This policy explains what cookies Merra uses and how to manage them.

1. What are cookies?

Cookies are small text files saved by your browser when you visit a website. They let the site remember things between pages or visits — like keeping you signed in, or understanding which features people use.

This policy uses “cookies” loosely to also cover similar technologies (local storage, session storage) that work in the same way.

2. Cookies we use

Essential (always on)

These are necessary for the site to work. You can’t turn them off because the product won’t function without them.

Optional (off by default — only on if you click “Accept All”)

We use these to understand how people use the product, spot bugs, and measure which ads bring people to Merra. They are only set if you accept.

PostHog is hosted in the EU. See PostHog’s privacy policy and Google’s privacy policy for details.

We don’t build a behavioural profile of you for re-targeting across the web. We don’t sell your data.

3. Your choice

When you first visit the site, you’ll see a banner with two options:

  • Accept All — turns on analytics and session recording
  • Essential Only — only essential cookies; no analytics, no session recording

Your choice is remembered for 6 months. To change it before then, use the button below — the banner will appear again on your next visit and you can pick again.

4. What happens if you choose “Essential Only”?

  • You can still sign up, pay, and use the full product
  • We won’t know how you used it (no analytics)
  • We won’t have a session recording to diagnose issues if you report one
  • We won’t be able to tell if a Google Ad you clicked led to your signup
  • That’s it — the product works the same

5. Third-party cookies on payment

When you reach our checkout, Stripe sets its own cookies for fraud prevention and (if you choose to save a card) to remember your saved cards. See Stripe’s cookie policy.

6. Do Not Track

Some browsers send a “Do Not Track” signal. There’s no UK industry standard for how to interpret it, so we currently rely on your choice in our consent banner instead. If a standard emerges, we’ll update this policy.

7. Changes

We update this policy if our cookie use changes. If we add anything new (e.g. an advertising pixel), we’ll update both this page and the consent banner before turning it on.
