Updated July 2026The University of Central Lancashire (UCLan, now also known as the University of Lancashire) runs its own credibility interview, separate from — and in addition to — any UKVI credibility interview. Some applicants are selected for it, and you'll be notified by email after you pay your deposit whether you've been chosen. It's typically a recorded interview in which UCLan asks about your decision to study with them, and if you're selected you must pass it before a CAS is issued.
The focus is the genuine-student basics: why you chose UCLan and your course, what you know about your studies, how you'll fund them, and your plans for living in the UK. Everything upstream runs through CAS Shield, UCLan's online system for verifying your details and uploading documents.
